Git教程3-undo your changes

作者:互联网

I didn't really know how I can name this chapter so basically I used the worst name, perhaps.

I don't really have a website to show you even though we need codes of a website to help explain how git works in this situation, but I'm just too lazy to do that, however I will try to make myself understood, don't worry about it.

If you had accidentally messed up a bunch of files and you didn't really know how to get the original ones back, don't worry, open git,get in the folder, and type in "git status" to find out what was wrong.

In this case where I'm going to show you, assume that we hired an amazing developer to help us expand the website, but this so-called amazing developer was actually a tomato can, which means he had really messed up everything,of course he got fired, but the website was still something we need to fix,but we didn't know where to start off.To make things easier, assume that the tomato can just made some changes in one single file, which is "index.html",so basically this is what you're going to see after typing in "git status":

You can obtain everything you need from the screen.

Okay, now we know what the hell that tomato can did to our codes.

In this case,we only need to type in "git checkout -- index.html" and we can get everything back. It's kind of like,uh,undo your changes.
